On early Saturday, gunmen launched an attack on a police facility in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, resulting in the death of three police officers.
In response to the attack on the Ogidi area command earlier today, which resulted in the loss of three police officers, the Anambra State Police Command has heightened security measures in the Idemili North area. According to a statement by the Anambra Police Command’s spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu, the attackers shot indiscriminately and threw improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and petrol bombs to gain entry into the area command, causing damage to the police facility. The Command expressed condolences for the loss of lives and property and urged calm, assuring residents of their commitment to rid the area of criminal elements. The incident is under investigation, and police operations are still ongoing.
