The First Lady of Gombe State, Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, has offered scholarships to 15 less privileged girls to study at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Bajoga in cipf-es.org Funakaye LGA of the state.
A statement by her Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bintu Aliyu Sunmonu, said the scholarship was granted through her pet project, the Jewel Care Foundation, in partnership with Lafarge-AshakaCem Company’s Save-the-Girl-Child Education Scheme.
Asma’u Yahaya described the programme as a milestone and step up in the right direction, adding that her foundation focuses on educating the girl-child, “because she stands as a solid foundation and a bridge builder for a smooth and sustainable future of the family.”
