Supervisor / Manager Position

We’re seeking a skilled and proficient supervisor to lead and support the successful completion of the Canada summer jobs program for DAC Studio.

 

A successful candidate will communicate with clients, staff, and management, supervise a team of 3 – 5 people, delegate daily tasks, and demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communications skills. They must have the ability/experience to successfully manage and mentor team members in a manner that is consistent with our core values.

 

ABOUT DAC Studios

Founded in Oakville, Ontario, DAC studio is a leading Canadian non-profit initiative creating higher-level opportunities for the Black African community as they develop language and tech skills that can improve their life in Canada and beyond.

The purpose of this studio is to offer African people and those who are language deficient (English or French) the to come together and design and/or develop their missions.

Job and roles include, but are not limited to:

  • manage and supervise a team of 3-5 people

 

  • organize plan and execute the workday

 

  • clearly define and Establish company goals and objectives for employees, and ensure their performance is in line with those stated goals.

 

  • carry out and oversee daily weekly, and seasonal scope of work including but not limited to; Addressing any concerns or issues identified by team members, planning and reviewing program objectives with the team, assessing employee performance, and providing performance reviews to human resource and senior managers, ensuring team members meet deadlines for key projects and tasks, creating team schedules and delegating tasks to ensure proper workflow, Screening and assessing new candidates

 

  • ensure continuous monitoring of employee performance and identifying areas of improvement

 

  • Provide training and oversee the orientation of new employees to get them up to speed on the policies and procedures within the company

 

IDEAL Candidate Must Have:

  • Intuitive problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
  • strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A lead-by-example management style with the ability to provide mentorship and training
